
CHCPS is a non-denominational, wholly parent-staffed social group that provides a warm and supportive place for 2-year-old play. It also provides the opportunity for parents to meet other families in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
CHCPS is a D.C. nonprofit corporation and a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. It is not a licensed daycare facility.

CHCPS can host up to three playgroups in the nursery of The Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 212 East Capitol St NE, Washington DC, 20002. Each group can host 12 children with three parent leaders.
Lottery
If there is more interest than spots, the outgoing parent board will hold a lottery to fill each group.
Please complete this interest form and submit a non-refundable administration fee of $25 to apply (see details below for where to mail your check). An email will be provided with the date of any lottery.

Fees
For the academic year (approximately the first day of DCPS through the last day of DCPS), the fee for two days a week is $450, and the fee for a one-day a week cohort (if one is offered) is $250. The fee for the summer session (2 days per week) is $200.

Once you are informed of your selection, a $100 deposit is required to hold your spot. The remainder of fees are due one week before the first day of play school.

Please make checks payable to Capitol Hill Cooperative Play School and write your child's name on the check. They can be mailed to the church: Capitol Hill Cooperative Play School, 212 East Capitol St NE, Washington DC, 20002. Please note that fees may be subject to changes as needed to ensure the play school can cover the costs of administering the play school.
Liability Waiver
In order to participate in the play school, all parents and guardians are required to sign a liability waiver on behalf of themselves and their child. The play school offers children opportunities to participate in play activities and physical and emotional development activities, including but not limited to playing, running, jumping, tumbling, climbing, art, music, indoor movement activities, outdoor movement and playground activities, and eating, all of which come with inherent risks.
